If you opt for exercises to keep healthy, it is important to tackle them with some knowledge. In most major centers there are aqua gyms where lessons on exercise routines are offered. Once you know what you are doing you can exercise at leisure in your own pool.

Exercise is essential for health

The US has seen a huge increase within the number of individuals considered obese by the medical profession . In fact a lot of people and doctors call it an “obesity epidemic”. To combat this we have discovered many pharmaceutical and non-pharmaceutical companies selling so called “quick fix” pills, powders, and lotions that do nothing to truly help people take the fat off and keep it off.

Of course something similar might be said of the diet industry. There are a wealth of suggested diets going around recently, in fact you could even pick one a month and during a full year of diet suggestions there will still be more to select from.

What people really need are some level headed and proven weight loss advice that folks can implement regardless of what their present fitness status is and to keep healthy.

That said let’s dive right in

Tip #1

Drink more water. All too often Americans are borderline dehydrated then their bodies are performing on the water starvation reflex and not flushing the toxins and junk out.

Tip #2

Eat more often. I bet you thought I would be to saying “eat less”. While it’s true that to reduce your weight you would need to eat less calories than you expend but on the flip side you need to eat more often to get your “metabolic furnace” stoked up and burning right. Get it out of starvation mode. So start the day off with breakfast. Even an quick breakfast drink and a bit of fruit as you head out the door in the morning.

Tip #3

Move more. Depending on your fitness you would like to be moving more. Use the stairs rather than the elevator, park further out from the office or the store, go for a walk around the block, go dancing, play with your kids. Make it fun. Believe it or not running isn’t the one and only way to burn more calories. Read our Water Aerobics story.

Tip #4

Finally, find out your “Why”. Decide why you want to discard fat. Make your reason big enough to motivate you through the downers that will invariably happen.

Personally my big motivation was wanting to see my great grandkids graduate college. My two children are 4 and 6 at the moment, added to that I want to go out and play with them without always being out of breath.
